On April 25, 2024, a new Court of King’s Bench Criminal Search service will allow Albertans, members of the legal community, including the Crown Prosecution Service, Legal Aid Alberta, and external stakeholders to submit a search request for criminal actions in any Court of King’s Bench location and receive the results electronically where appropriate.

Criminal search requests, including the following, may be submitted through the service:
- Media requests
- Urgent requests
- Record Suspensions
- US Waivers
- Exhibits
- Endorsements
- Requests for viewing of files
- Copy of documents
- Certification of documents
Civil search requests will continue to be submitted via the Court of King’s Bench Civil Search service. Please do not resubmit searches currently being processed or submitted previously.
Response times for results will vary depending on the volume and complexity of the search.
- A search fee of $10.00 will apply where appropriate.
- Depending on the request submitted, additional fees may apply.
- Full payment is required, where applicable, prior to results being released.
- Court Operations may contact the requestor for additional information about the request, such as requests for exhibits, youth information, record suspensions, schedule a time to view the court file, or discuss additional fees as required.
