The Courts of Alberta congratulate the Honourable Kent H. Davidson on his appointment as Chief Justice of the Court of King’s Bench of Alberta.
Through his significant career as a lawyer, community leader and judge, Chief Justice Davidson has remained steadfast in his commitment to serving Albertans.
Chief Justice of Alberta Ritu Khullar said: “It is with great pleasure that I congratulate Chief Justice Davidson on his appointment. I look forward to working together as we continue to safeguard the independence of the judiciary and maintain public confidence in a justice system that is accessible to all Albertans.”
Prior to his appointment as a judge on the Court of King’s Bench in 2019, Chief Justice Davidson worked as a lawyer in private practice in Alberta for 36 years and was a managing partner of a national law firm.
Chief Justice Davidson replaces the Honourable Mary T. Moreau who was elevated to the Supreme Court of Canada in October.
