Court of King's Bench of Alberta
The Court of King's Bench is the Superior Trial Court for the Province, hearing trials in civil and criminal matters and appeals from decisions of the Court of Justice. The Chief Justice and other Justices of the Court are also judges of Surrogate Matters, which has jurisdiction over probate and administration of estate matters.
The Court has posted to its website a Draft Family Practice Note 10, which would apply to anyone who requests access to a court file in relation to proceedings under the Family Law Rules, part 12 of the Alberta Rules of Court, Alta Reg 124/2010, and proceedings under the Family Homes on Reserves and Matrimonial Interests or Rights Act, SC 2013, c 20.
