In keeping with the
annual tradition of getting together with the local bar in the regions
throughout Alberta, the Court of Queen’s Bench is pleased to be presenting an
information session for Lawyers and Students-at-law this summer. This year’s
seminar covers procedural updates and cases of interest decided over the past
12 months in the criminal, family, and civil practice areas. We will also have
an update on SafeRoads judicial review decisions, some information on the
surrogate practice reforms and the Court’s French language policy.
Each seminar will be
conducted by a Justice of this Court. Participating lawyers, as officers of the
Court, and their students may ask questions about changes to Court practice and
provide feedback about general issues of concern in their region. We look
forward to the opportunity to meet with you and discuss recent developments in
the law and practice in an informal and relaxed setting.
